Nicolas Vassiliévitch Gogol, est un écrivain russe d'origine ukrainienne, né à Sorotchintsy dans le gouvernement de Poltava (Empire russe) le 20 mars / 1er avril 1809, et mort à Moscou le 20 février / 4 mars 1852. Nicolaï Vassilievitch Gogol est né dans un village du gouvernement de Poltava, au cœur de l'Ukraine, cadet de neuf enfants, issu d'une famille de petite noblesse campagnarde peu aisée. Son père, décédé en 1825 alors que Nicolas n'a que 16 ans, écrit de petites pièces de théâtre et développe le goût de son fils pour la littérature. Sa mère lui donne une éducation religieuse traditionnelle qui au fil des ans évoluera vers un mysticisme maladif (angoisse du mal et du jugement dernier).

نيقولاي فاسيليفتش غوغول كاتب روسي يُعد من آباء الأدب الروسي. وُلد في في 1 ابريل 1809 وتوفي في 4 مارس 1852. من أعماله الأكثر شهرة رواية النفوس الميتة وقصته القصيرة المعطف، بالإضافة إلى المسرحيتين الكوميديتين المفتش العام وخطوبة.رواية ملحمية ساخرة كتبها الروائي الروسي نيقولاي غوغول في 1842.
